On 30th July ALISS (Association of Librarians and Information Professionals in the Social Sciences) will be holding a one day conference on the issue of how subject/ academic liaison librarians can support evolving research needs. This topic has been highlighted in recent major research reports such as the recent RLUK Re-skilling for research and the day will focus upon a number of key areas in which skills could be pro-actively developed. These include: research data management, datasets support, open access advocacy, information literacy and literature searching. The speakers will highlight areas of good practice offer practical insight from their own experiences.

Speakers will include:

• Locating and citing high quality data sets – John Kaye Lead Curator – Digital Social Science, British Library
